The
Links at SafeHaven, Grand Cayman
The
Links Grand Cayman Golf at SafeHaven
has been designed to compliment the existing Caymanian terrain,
taking into full account the natural obstacles of prevailing ocean
breezes, narrow fairways and abundance of water and sand. This 6605-yard
par 71 course was designed in 1994 by Roy Case and is set against
the North Sound, making for both interesting play and panoramic
vistas of the Caribbean Sea. Located on West Bay Road, close to
the famous Seven-Mile Beach waters, a round of golf on The Links
is a must for avid golf fans or the amateur looking to spend a day
of leisure on the island.

As the trade winds substantially affect the nature of the game at The Links, the yardage equates more to a 7,000 yard course in calmer climates. The Cayman Island golf course is laid out in a long intertwining string of holes that either play directly into, or follow the wind.
In keeping
with the Scottish heritage from which The Links derives its name,
the course is characterized by mildly undulating landscapes and
wide-open spaces; the rough sporting long, heather-like grasses.
The coastal property has been left as close to its natural state
as possible, making a home for numerous species of wild birds and
exotic tropical flora. The collection of shade trees and shrubs
include mahogany, cordia, maho, thatch and coconut palms.
Visitors to
the Grand Cayman Islands Links at SafeHaven Golf Club can also avail
of the full-service amenities including the clubhouse (an open-air
bar), practice facilities including an aqua driving range, putting
greens, chipping and bunker areas, changing rooms and a golf centre
for the latest in golf fashions, accessories and equipment. A full
service food and beverage cart continually circulates the course
providing sandwiches, snacks and drinks to make the day most enjoyable.
